II International Specialized Exhibition and Fair “To Our Children 2008” and the Fair “Hello, School" |

The National Exhibition Center "BelExpo" of Directorate of Affairs of the President of the Republic of Belarus will hold II International Specialized Exhibition and Fair "To Our Children 2008" and the Fair "Hello, School!". The exhibition will be held on August 23 - 31, 2008 at the exhibition hall of "BelExpo" (27 Ya.Kupala Str., Minsk). The event is organized by the order of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus and with the assistance of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State Concern in Producing and Selling Light Industry Goods, the Belarusian State Concern in Food Industry, the Belarusian Production and Trade Concern of Forestry, Wood-processing and Pulp-and-paper Industry and Minsk City Executive Committee.

On information concerning genetic modified components in food products |

On August 4, 2008 there was approved the Decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No 1115. The Decision introduced amendments to the Regulations of Retail Trade and Catering approved by the Decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No 384 dd. April 7, 2004, concerning informing of consumers about genetic modified components contained in products.

About organization of school goods selling |

Since July 15, 2008 there have been started operating more than 300 school markets in all the regions of the republic and also in Minsk City in accordance with the joint Plan of activities aimed at provision of production, supply and selling of school goods in the year of 2008, approved by the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the Belarusian State Concern in Producing and Selling Light Industry Goods, the Belarusian Republican Union of Consumer Societies. More than 400 week-end school markets will be organized till the end of August.
